We have recently upgraded a c tec conventional system at a school which was limited to 8 zones and would of required extensive re wiring to allow the zones to be separated to comply to BS5839-1 and also it required additional zones which simply was not an option therefore we decided to install the new C-TEC Cast xfp32 zone addressable panel utilising the new Fast convert addressable converter which allowed us to create one loop by closing two radials to create loop 1 and to use the fast convert to create loop 2 by using the existing radial circuits and changing every device to the new C-tec cast devices giving full capability to programme the zones correctly and create new ones while retaining the existing cabling which gives the added benefit of pin point device activation identification rather than the old zone only activation. This also gave us greater control over cause and effect.
We also carried out some additional door access using stand alone prox keypads as a cost effective solution to secure vital doors within the building.
